When you perform a standard deletion on a computer (like emptying the Recycle Bin), the operating system does not actually erase the data. Instead, it simply removes the index pointer to that file and marks the space as “free” or available to be written over. Until new data fills that block, the original data remains intact and can easily be retrieved using basic data recovery tools.
